A regular visit of students to the RA Anti-Corruption Committee was organized today within the framework of the "Promotion of Democratic Culture in Armenia" program implemented by the initiative of the "Union of Conscious Citizens" non-governmental organization and under the support of the "Freedom House" organization.
Sasun Khachatryan, the chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee hosted Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia and Kamo Galustyan, the Police Attaché of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armenia.
On May 16, the Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan, hosted Franco Sanchez-Hidalgo, the director of programmes of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), and Olena Rodionenko, the head of the IDLO office in Yerevan.
With the evidence obtained by the criminal proceedings carried out in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee it was substantiated that G. Gh., occupying the position of the forester of the Vahagni Forest State of the “Vanadzor Forestry” branch of the “Hayantar” SNCO, deliberately did not fulfill the powers arising from his position, as a result of which the state suffered a property damage of AMD 3,228,000.
In the frames of criminal proceedings initiated as a result of operational and investigative measures jointly implemented by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee and the RA National Security Service, a number of cases of taking bribes from the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran by the officers of the Syunik territorial division of the RA Urban Development, Technical Standards and Fire Safety Inspectorate were revealed.
With the evidence obtained by the criminal proceedings carried out in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee it was proved that K. Kh. and V. S., occupying respectively the positions of the head of the trade, services and advertising division of the staff of the head of Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan city, and the chief specialist of the same division, committed theft of a large amount of money entrusted to them with prior consent.
The Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan, received the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the RA, Kristina Kvien, and the Director Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Alexis Haftvani.
With the preliminary investigation carried out in the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, it was substantiated that security officers of Nubarashen penitentiary of the RA MD H. Kh. and A. G., being officially authorized to ensure the maintenance of internal service and security in the penitentiary, regularly received around 2,827,800 AMD bribes, from the convicts of the same institution in order to commit an obvious illegal act with prior consent, to transfer mobile phones to the said penitentiary.
A case of receiving a bribe in a large amount by an official of the Ministry of Defense was revealed in the framework of the criminal proceedings in connection with the alleged crimes of receiving bribes by the officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
