The Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan, received the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the RA, Kristina Kvien, and the Director Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Alexis Haftvani.
Welcoming the newly appointed ambassador, Sasun Khachatryan presented the main directions of the Committee’s activities, the results recorded in the fight against corruption, referred to the main priorities, including the process of equipping the structure with trained personnel and modern equipment. The chairman of the committee thanked the American side for providing continuous support in the fight against corruption, as well as in obtaining the necessary equipment.
During the meeting, reference was also made to close cooperation with the INL and the effectiveness of implementation of various programs involving training and experts within its framework. Sasun Khachatryan also emphasized the support of American partners in the work related to requests for international legal mutual assistance.
Referring to the important role of the Anti-Corruption Committee in the law enforcement system of Armenia, Ambassador Kvien especially welcomed the fact that the Committee has managed to record certain positive results in the fight against corruption in a short period of its activity.
The US ambassador highlighted the work being done with the Anti-Corruption Committee and expressed her willingness to continue the close cooperation with the same effectiveness.
