THE HISTORY OF THE ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMITTEE
OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA
The Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia is a newly created structure in the system of law-enforcement bodies, it was formed and has been operating since October 23, 2021, the day the RA Law "On the Anti-Corruption Committee" fully entered into force.
The procedure and conditions for the formation and activity of the Anti-Corruption Committee, service in the Committee, the classification of positions and class ranks, the rights, duties and responsibilities of employees, legal and social guarantees and other relations with regard to the service in the Committee are regulated by the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the Anti-Corruption Committee".
The anti-corruption committee organizes and carries out pre-trial criminal proceedings on alleged corruption crimes under its authority in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia. Within the framework of its powers, it also carries out operative-intelligence activities in accordance with the law "On operative-intelligence activities".
