The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings under the investigation of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia revealed a fact of official forgery, committed by a person who held the position of the head of Saratak community of Shirak region of the Republic of Armenia in 2016-2021.
In particular, it was established that the above-mentioned official, with the purpose to organize irregular asphalting of his residential area, in 2021 ignored the fact of the provision of a subvention for the reconstruction of another territory of the same populated area, approved by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, and distorted the actual location of the territory subject to renovation in the official documents. As a result, instead of the street to be reconstructed, a section of the road in his residential area was renovated.
After the completion of the reconstruction works, on November 10, 2021, the head of the community, being the chairman of the commission for the acceptance of the completed construction project, approved the act of the commission with his signature and the seal of the community administration, which contained deliberately false information that the road subject to reconstruction was allegedly renovated within the framework of the subvention program.
The former head of Saratak community was charged with committing official forgery under Article 445, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and his deputy and the member of the community council assisting him - under Article 46-445, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings against the above-mentioned three persons has been completed. The indictment has been approved by the prosecutor, and the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
