In the course of the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee based on the materials received from the National Security Service, it was established that the assistant judge of the court of general jurisdiction assisted in receiving a bribe in a particularly large amount by the representative of the RA judicial authority for making a favorable decision in favor of the person indicated by the head of the community administration of the same region.

In particular, the preliminary investigation established that the official of the RA judicial authority, aided by the assistant judge, in 2024, demanded and received a bribe in a particularly large amount of AMD 2,000,000 and USD 8,500 from the head of the community administration for recognizing the ownership right of the person indicated by the aforementioned head of the community administration to the buildings located on the land plot of the community. Afterwards, the claimant's application was satisfied by the court decision, and the said buildings, which were on the balance of the community, became the latter`s property by virtue of the statute of limitations.

For assisting in receiving a particularly large bribe, the assistant judge was charged under Article 46-435, Part 3, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and the head of the administration of the above-mentioned community was charged under Article 436, Part 1 (2 episodes) for giving a bribe.

Arrest was applied as a measure of restriction against the accused, which, in the course of the preliminary investigation, was replaced with an alternative measure of restriction (including dismissal from the post).

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed. The indictment has been approved by the prosecutor, and the materials of the proceedings have been sent to court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
