As a result of evidentiary and other procedural actions carried out within the framework of a multi-component criminal case initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia based on the materials received from the Department of Internal Security and Fight against Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, about 50 facts of drawing up 286 false protocols on administrative offenses by patrol service officers against drivers have been revealed.
In particular, the preliminary investigation established that the officers of the patrol service battalion of Shirak region police, throughout 2023-2024, at different times drew up false protocols on administrative offenses against a number of persons driving vehicles without their participation, even though no offenses had been committed by them. In each case, the patrol officers drew up to 15 false protocols, based on which decisions were made to impose fines on the above-mentioned drivers in the amount of AMD 5,000 to 100,000, entering into the document registration information system. A total of 286 false protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up.
For committing official forgery, 19 patrol service officers were charged under Article 445 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, with respect to 2 of them, a decision was made to terminate the criminal prosecution due to active repentance.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings against 17 defendants has been completed. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment have been approved by the prosecutor and sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
