According to the criminal proceedings initiated on the basis of the measures carried out by the operational-investigative department of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, it was established that A. A., the head of one of the departments of the office of Kentron administrative district of Yerevan, having entered into a preliminary agreement with his deputy and H. S., an employee of the same department, as part of a group, using their official powers and the influence caused by them, received a bribe in a large amount for committing actions in favor of the bribe giver.
In particular, the preliminary investigation established that the aforementioned officials, demanded from A. Sh. a large bribe in the amount of USD 2,700, for organizing the process of granting him a permit to engage in outdoor trading in various places of Kentron administrative district without any obstacles, namely, for installing coffee machines in places chosen by A. Sh. and providing a permit for their operation, to which the latter gave his consent.
According to their agreement, on July 28, 2024, A. Sh. gave the bribe of USD 2,700 to H. S., which the said officials shared among themselves at work the next day.
For receiving a bribe in large amounts, the three officials of Kentron administrative district were charged under Article 435, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. For bribing the latter, A. Sh. was charged under Article 436, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Arrest was applied as a measure of restriction against all the accused.
The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, the indictment has been approved by the prosecutor, and the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
