Based on preliminary investigation carried out in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee under the criminal proceedings it was justified that K.P., being an official of one of the municipal departments of Lori region, with the purpose to register a group of residents of one of the villages of the same region as beneficiaries of social security, demanded from them and regularly received monthly allowances totaling about AMD 1 million as illegal remuneration and bribes.
In particular, it was found out that in 2016-2021, K.P., with the aim to register a group of residents of one of the populated areas of Lori region as beneficiaries of social security, in the absence of established grounds, at various times demanded illegal remuneration and bribes from the latter and regularly received amounts from AMD 120,000 to AMD 254,000.
In addition, the preliminary investigation established that K.P., within the period from November 15, 2022 to May 16, 2023, demanded and received monthly allowances as a bribe for an illegal act in favor of the same resident of Lori region, that is, for including the latter in the list of beneficiaries in the absence of the stipulated grounds, thereby facilitating the embezzlement of large amounts of money from the state through fraud.
For the above-mentioned criminal acts, K. P. was charged under Article 311.1, Part 2 /3 episodes/, Article 311, Part 1 of the former Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as well as Article 435, Part 2, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, Article 46-255, Part 3, Clause 2 /2 episodes/ of the RA Criminal Code and Article 46-255, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
The damage caused has been fully recovered during the preliminary investigation.
The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the court with an indictment for consideration on the merits.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
