Тhe preliminary investigation carried out under the criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-corruption Committee of RA on the basis of materials received from the National Security Service of RA, it was justified that G.P. and V. K., employees of the Urban, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection Body of RA, by prior agreement, as part of a group, for connivance and patronage in favor of various business entities, demanded and received from them bribes in the amount of up to AMD 90,000 per each case.
In particular, in the course of the preliminary investigation it was established that the above-mentioned officials, within the period from August to October 2023, while performing their duties, condoned, patronized and committed other illegal actions in favor of directors of fueling stations, owners of public service facilities, and in some cases, their responsible persons, namely, for not recording violations of the applicable fire safety rules in the said structures and for granting a positive conclusion on compliance with fire safety rules, they demanded and received various amounts of money as a bribe.
G.P. and V.K. were charged under Article 435, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 3 of the RA Criminal Code (8 episodes), and M. S., and the director of one of the above mentioned companies – under Article 436, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings has been completed, the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the court with the indictment for consideration on the merits.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
