Representatives of the civil society organizations (CSO) Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, including Karen Zadoyan, the coordinator of the Coalition Secretariat, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, and Movses Aristakesyan Chairman of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, Head of the Center for Economic Rights, were hosted by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee on 1 March, 2024, to discuss a number of issues related to the scope of interest, as well as the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the RA and the Action Plan for 2023-2026 arising from it.
During the meeting, in particular, issues related to the improvement of the anti-corruption legislation, including the subordination of crimes of a corruption nature, were discussed. There was also reference to the results recorded by the Anti-Corruption Committee in the fight against corruption, personnel selection, recruitment and training processes, issues related to the whistleblowing system, as well as legislative initiatives recently presented to increase the effectiveness of the preliminary investigation.
The representatives of the Anti-Corruption Coalition expressed their willingness to support the Committee in the direction of capacity building, development of anti-corruption education and raising awareness, as well as implementation of the anti-corruption reform. The possibilities of further strengthening the cooperation between the Anti-Corruption Committee and the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, were also considered.
