According to the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee on the basis of the materials received from the military police of the RA Ministry of Defense, it was found that occupying the position of the commander of the battalion of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense M. M. using his official and official powers, as well as the influence caused by them, both personally and with the help of the commander of one of the platoons of his battalion, stole material and property resources worth a total of about 4 million AMD entrusted to them.

In particular, in the course of preliminary investigation it was proved that in the period from October 2022 to January 2023, M. M. partially stole 1,200 liters of diesel fuel worth more than 500 thousand AMD allocated for the vehicles of the battalion he led. The mentioned official transported the stolen diesel fuel in parts with his official car and handed it over to the commander of the logistical support platoon K. S., instructing the latter to sell it and transfer the received money to him.

In addition, with the intention of helping his superior to steal the property, K. S. moved and stored the material resources stolen from the military unit, that is, military uniforms, body armor, sleeping bags and raincoats, protective equipment and other accessories of military equipment worth about 3.5 million AMD in a garage temporarily acquired for the purpose. The mentioned items were not handed over to the soldiers of the military unit and were managed by the battalion commander M. M., however, on August 24, 2023, they were found and confiscated by the investigator of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee during the search of the said warehouse.

For the above-mentioned criminal acts, the commander of the battalion of the Ministry of Defense M. M. was charged under points 2 and 3 of part 2 of article 256 (2 counts) of the RA Criminal Code, and K. S., who assisted the latter, was charged with points 2 2 and 3 of part 2 of article 46-256 of the RA Criminal Code

Preliminary investigation in criminal proceedings has been over. The indictment was confirmed by the prosecutor and the proceedings were sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
