During the criminal proceedings initiated on the basis of materials received in the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia from Yerevan City Department of the RA National Security Service, factual information was obtained on receipt of bribes in various amounts from a number of persons by H. Gh., holding the position of the head of "Mushakan-Jrashen" cemetery of CNCO “Special Services to the Population” under Yerevan Municipality.
In particular, H.Gh., using his official powers in favor of three different persons, namely, for providing grave sites in preferred areas of “Mushakan-Jrashen” cemetery for the burial of relatives of the latter, through intermediaries and with the assistance of cemetery worker N.V., received bribes from the above three persons in the amount of AMD 500,000, AMD 200,000 and AMD 600,000 respectively within the period from May 22 to June 9, 2023.
November 30, 2023, 6 people including the head of the cemetery, were arrested under the criminal proceedings on suspicion of committing the above mentioned criminal acts.
The same day, H. Gh. was charged under Article 435 Part 2 Point 3 (2 episodes) of RA Criminal Code and Article 435 Part 2 Points 2 and 3.
A motion was filed to the court by RA Anti-Corruption Committee investigator to select arrest as a measure of restriction against H. Gh., which was satisfied.
5 more persons were charged with assisting in the receipt of a bribe, giving a bribe and mediation in bribery.
The preliminary investigation is underway.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
