Sufficient evidence was obtained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, stating that K.K., being an official performing public service, in return for a bribe, brought prohibited items for a convict into the "Convicts' Hospital" penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice.
In particular, the preliminary examination revealed that convict M. A. receiving treatment in the pulmonology department of the penitentiary institution offered a bribe to K.K. an employee of the security department of the same institution in exchange for an illegal act in his favor, that is, to illegally bring mobile phones, charging devices and other accessories intended for them, which are prohibited items, into the penitentiary, to which the latter agreed.
Then, according to the agreement, in May 2023, K. K. met with M. A.'s relative, who transferred the bribe and prohibited items to him. In order to fulfill his criminal intention, K.K. took the above-mentioned items to the penitentiary, where the officers of the same institution discovered them during the search.
K.K., the official of the Penitentiary Institution was charged under point 3 of part 2 of article 435 of the RA Criminal Code, and M. A. was charged under point 3 of part 2 of article 436 of the RA Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation in criminal proceedings has been over. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment were handed over to the supervising prosecutor with a request to approve it and send it to the court.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
