On July 12, the students of the Anti-Corruption School of Young Leaders visited the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, where Sasun Khachatryan, the Chairman of the Committee, hosted them.
The graduates talked with the Chairman of the Committee about issues related to corruption, its types and causes, existing corruption risks in various fields, modern mechanisms of their prevention and fight.
Answering the questions of interest to the graduates, Sasun Khachatryan presented them with examples of the investigator's work, referred to the specifics of the investigation of corruption crimes, indicators of findings, also spoke about the legislative regulations of the field and the need to introduce anti-corruption education. As Sasun Khachatryan said, the involvement of the public and the formation of intolerance towards this phenomenon by the society is an important element to succeed in the anti-corruption fight today, for which the introduction of proper anti-corruption education is an important prerequisite. The chairman of the committee emphasized the importance of the principle of inevitability of punishment; according to him, it should be achieved so that everyone is convinced that no manifestation of corruption will go unpunished.
Presenting the steps taken by the Anti-Corruption Committee within the framework of international cooperation, the Chairman of the Committee also referred to the work carried out with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the law enforcement structures of other countries in the fight against corruption.
