With the evidence obtained in the criminal proceedings carried out in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee it was found out that K. A., occupying the position of the deputy commander of the technical unit of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, received through intermediaries a bribe of 605,000 AMD from a father of a conscript soldier of the same military unit to perform an action in favour of the latter.

In particular, according to the preliminary investigation carried out in the criminal proceedings, it was found that in order to support the appointment of a conscript soldier of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense to the position of a driver in the same military unit, the latter's father, M. G. applied to K. A., deputy chief-commander - head of the technical part of the mentioned military unit in March 2023 through M. H. and A. G.. The latter, using the influence due to his official powers to act in favor of the serviceman, on March 7, 2023 through one of the mediators and with the assistance of S. Kh. demanded a bribe of 2,500 USD and on the same day instructed his subordinate, the head of the military unit's automobile service, to include the mentioned serviceman in the list of persons to be appointed to the position of driver. However M.G. refused to pay the requested bribe due to lack of funds, after which K. A. demanded 1,500 USD.

Accepting the offer to bribe the official M.G. transferred 100,000 RUB equivalents to 515,000 AMD and 90,000 AMD (total 605,000 AMD) to K. A. through A.G.

K. A. was charged under point 2 of part 2 of article 435 of the RA Criminal Code, S. Kh. was charged under point 2 of part 2 of article 46-435 of the RA Criminal Code, M. H. - under part 1 of article 437, A. G. - under part 1 of article 437, and M. G. was charged with point 2 of part 2 of article 436 of the RA Criminal Code.

Arrest was selected as a measure of restriction against K. A. and  S. Kh.

The preliminary investigation in the criminal proceedings against the above-mentioned accused persons is over. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment were handed over to the supervising prosecutor with a request to approve it and send it to the court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
