Factual information was obtained in the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA National Security Service and investigated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, that occupying the position of the head of the economic department of the Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi and being an official, S. B. stole particularly large amounts of more than 7 million AMD entrusted to him from the budget of the Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi in the period between November 2022 and February 2023.

In particular, by the preliminary examination it was found out that using his official powers during the above-mentioned period S. B. transferred in parts particularly large amounts of a total of 7,400,000 AMD to the bank accounts of workers of the building repair department of the same university V. H. and A. M. as salary, without legal grounds, for the purpose of an embezzlement, then demanded the latter to cash it and transfer it to him. V. H. and A. M., obeying S. B.'s claim completely cashed the money and transferred to him, which he stole after receiving it.

On 25.05.2023 S. B., V. H. and A. M. were detained.

On 26.05.2023 the Head of Economic Department of the YSMU S. B. was charged under point 3 of part 3 of article 256 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigator of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee filed a motion to the court with a request to select arrest as a measure of restriction against him, which was granted.

The preliminary investigation is underway.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
