According to the preliminary investigation carried out within the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anticorruption Committee on the basis of materials received from the Internal Security Department of the Police, cases of demanding and receiving bribes by four traffic police inspectors from more than two dozen drivers with prior consent, as well as cases of official forgery, were revealed.
In particular, it was substantiated by the criminal proceedings that inspectors of the "Traffic Police" service M. H., A. S., V. Kh. and H. G. while performing service on different sections of the highways of Ararat marz during 2022, stopped the drivers who violated traffic rules and demanded bribes from them in exchange for not recording the violations and not compiling records of administrative offenses in accordance with the law, and received such bribes.
According to the preliminary investigation, it was found out that the above-mentioned officials of the Traffic Police demanded 5-10 thousand AMD from each as a bribe for not subjecting the drivers who exceeded the speed limit to administrative responsibility, and in a number of cases, they accepted offers of drivers to fill their official cars with petrol as a bribe, as well as requested from them and received coupons for petrol refills.
In addition, it was found out that the aforementioned traffic inspectors in a group, with prior consent, made false reports on administrative offenses, including, made 3 reports on administrative offenses with false content in order not to deprive the driver of the right to drive vehicles for being in an inebriated state.
M. H. and A. S. was charged for the above-mentioned crimes under points 1 and 3 of part 2 of article 435 (15 counts), and part 2 of article 445 (2 counts), and V. Kh. and H. G. was charged under points 1 and 3 of part 2 of article 435 (9 counts).
Arrest was selected as a measure of restriction against the three traffic police inspectors.
The preliminary investigation is over. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment were handed over to the supervising prosecutor with a request to approve it and send it to the court.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
