On the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA National Security Service Investigation Department and carried out by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, factual data were obtained that Zh. V., E.S. and H. M., occupying the position of the senior inspector of the RP Kotayk registration-examination unit of the RA MIA and the positions of the inspector, received various amounts of money as bribes through the mediation of S.G. and A.G. for committing an obvious illegal act in favor of the persons who applied for a driver's license.
In particular, the preliminary investigation revealed that 5 citizens, applying to S.G. and A.G., asked to assist the RP inspector in obtaining driver's licenses through exams of formal character in exchange for a bribe. The latter agreed and received various sums of money from the mentioned citizens and transferred them as bribes to police officers Zh.V., E.S. and H.M.
After receiving the bribe money, police officers Zh.V., E.S. and H.M. formally accepted practical exams without properly checking the practical knowledge of driving a car and gave a positive assessment, on the basis of which they were issued driving licenses in violation of the established procedure.
As part of the criminal proceedings, RP inspectors Zh.V., E.S. and H.M., mediators S.G. and A.G., as well as 5 citizens who paid bribes were detained and brought to the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.
For the above-mentioned criminal acts, employees Zh.V., E.S. and H.M. were charged under point 3 of part 2 of article 435 of the RA Criminal Code, / Zh.V.: 3 episodes/, mediators S. G. - under point 3 of part 2 of article 46-436 and part 1 of article 437, /4 episodes/, A. G.- under part 1 of article 437 and 5 citizens- under point 3 of part 2 of article 436 of the RA Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
