According to the evidence obtained on the criminal proceedings conducted in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, it was substantiated that S.H., occupying the position of the senior investigator of the investigation division of the Ajapniak and Davtashen administrative districts of the Yerevan City Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee, using his official powers embezzled 204,000 AMD from the victim by deception.

In particular, it was found out that during the preliminary investigation carried out on the criminal proceedings, in September-October 2022, in his office, the investigator S. H., demanded from M.B., the victim of the said proceedings, as physical evidence and received AMD 204,000, giving false assurances to M.B., that the aforementioned amount was allegedly necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the preliminary investigation and the legal course of the criminal proceedings.

As a result, on the same day, M.B. handed over 204,000 AMD to the investigator, which the latter embezzled.

For committing the above-mentioned criminal act  investigator S. H. was charged under point 2 of part 2 of article 255 of the RA Criminal Code (for committing embezzlement by means of fraud or abuse of trust).

During the preliminary investigation, S. H. pleaded guilty and gave confessing testimonies. On October 12, 2022, a disciplinary penalty of  "dismissal"  was applied to S. H. and the latter was dismissed from his position.

The preliminary investigation on the criminal investigation has been completed. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment were handed over to the supervising prosecutor with a motion to approve it and send it to the court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
