Today, on the initiative of the "Union of informed citizens" public organization, students of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Yerevan State University visited the RA Anti-Corruption Committee. The visit was organized with the support of the "Freedom House" organization within the framework of the "Promotion of democratic culture in Armenia" program.
The students met with Sasun Khachatryan, the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee. Speaking about the problems and mission of the Committee, the new legislative changes related to the system, the importance and complexity of the investigator's profession, issues related to professional orientation, Sasun Khachatryan emphasized that the investigator's profession is complex, but at the same time very interesting and dignified work. According to the Chairman of the Committee, the investigator must be not only impartial and principled, but also developed in different ways, have a broad worldview, because due to the nature of the work, he/she can deal with people from various fields and different personalities, learn and research every day, and gain new knowledge. "At the same time, we should not forget that this is also a job that requires great responsibility, because we are dealing with human destinies, and even a slight subjective or careless attitude is unacceptable here," said Sasun Khachatryan.
The chairman of the committee urged the students to be guided only by the law in any case. "After all, everyone, regardless of social status or position held, must understand that if they commit an illegal act, punishment will be inevitable."
Sasun Khachatryan, answering the questions interesting for the students, presented them with examples from his own experience and referred to the importance of introducing anti-corruption education.
