Sasun Khachatryan, Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, hosted Fan Yong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to RA.
The Chairman of the Committee presented the functions and priorities of the newly created anti-corruption body of Armenia, to the Ambassador, noting that the structure is doing its best to create zero tolerance for corruption in the country. At the same time, Sasun Khachatryan said to believe that the establishment of cooperative relations with Chinese partners and the exchange of experience will have a positive impact on the work of the law enforcement bodies of both countries, bearing in mind the fact that China also has a specialized body in the anti-corruption field with similar functions, which is the National Control Commission.
Referring to the strict and consistent fight against corruption by the Chinese leadership, Ambassador Fan Yong noted that it is the main factor that contributed to the rapid development of the country and the formation of people's trust in the government. According to the Ambassador, the country cannot develop unless the necessary fight against corruption is carried out.
The Ambassador also emphasized that an effective cooperative environment has already been formed between Armenia and China, so it would be very good if the parties try to strengthen cooperation in the field of law enforcement as well, especially considering that the governments of both countries have the necessary will and determination to fight corruption.
During the meeting, the need and importance of introducing the latest information technologies in the field of anti- corruption was also discussed. Emphasizing the development of the capabilities of operational officers and the use of the latest methods in anti-corruption measures among the priorities of the structure's activities, Sasun Khachatryan expressed hope that the Chinese partners can also assist in this matter.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to deepen the newly formed cooperative ties and carry out effective work in the direction of the exchange of experience and the implementation of a number of other programs.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
