During the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Investigation Department of the RA National Security Service and investigated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, factual information was obtained that K. A. and A.P. applied to K.T., a member of the medical commission of Yerevan city territorial unit of conscription and recruitment service of the RA Ministry of Defense, for a three-year deferment from compulsory military service due to false medical diagnoses for their son R. P., and reached a preliminary agreement to pay the latter a bribe for that purpose.
The above-mentioned official of the commission, having the authority to issue a conclusion on the suitability of conscript, demanded K. A. to pay a bribe in a large amount of 4,500 USD equivalent to 1,777,185 AMD on November 23, 2022 in order to commit an illegal act in favor of R. P., that is to organize the process of granting a three-year deferment from compulsory military service with false medical diagnoses. Then K. A. and her husband A. P., with the assistance of the latter’s brother and the husband of the member of the commission K. T., gave the requested bribe amount to K. T. on November 27, 2022.
On 03.02.2023, K. T., K. A., A. P. and the people who supported them were detained by the investigator of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.
Preliminary investigation is underway. Necessary operational-investigative measures are taken, as well as investigative and procedural actions are carried out in order to find out the whole range of apparent crimes, as well as the persons involved.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
