In the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA NSS Investigation Department and investigated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, factual information was obtained that the Director of the Forestry Committee of the RA Ministry of Environment, "Tumanyan Forestry" branch- "Hayantar" SNPO, K. Gh., during 2021, received bribes from them and committed official forgery in order to sell timber procured from Tumanyan forestry to various persons.
In particular, it was found out that K. Gh. on the same day, he personally received a bribe of AMD 47,000 from A. B. in his office in order to perform an action within the scope of his authority in favor of him, that is, to sell him 5.7 m3 of firewood from the territory of the forest fund of the branch he headed, but he handed over to A. B. a false document drawn up by him regarding the release of only 4 m3 of timber.
Besides, in order to act in favor of G. P. within the scope of his powers, that is, to sell him 25 m3 of firewood from the territory of the same forest fund, K. Gh. also received a bribe of 117,000 AMD from him, and for selling 33 m3 of firewood to another person, he demanded a bribe of 165,000 AMD from the latter.
During the investigation, data were also obtained that for the fact of obvious illegal inaction in favor of LLC, that is, not reacting to the fact of the destruction of a forest area with an area of about 450 m2 as a result of dismantling of gas pipeline in the reserve of "Tumanyan Forest State" in December 2021 by the working group of the said company without an appropriate permission and for not initiating legal procedures in accordance with the law received AMD 240,000 from the director of Vanadzor branch of the same company.
On 28.11.2022, director of "Tumanyan Forestry" branch K. Gh. and two other persons were arrested by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee investigator.
The investigation is ongoing.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
